your immune system is clever

Charles Darwin is most remembered for his ‘Survival of the Fittest’ comments, but what he really meant is that the best ‘adaptor’ survives. Staying healthy is a measure of your body’s ability to adapt to environmental challenges like viruses, bacteria, severe climate and physical risks, and STILL maintain good health. When our health is challenged, there are various defence mechanisms at hand to defend ourselves: the skin, mucous membranes, lymph system and the blood cells of the immune system itself. In the womb early aspects of our immune system develop, mostly we receive this ‘training’ from our mother over the placenta. During vaginal birth we are then exposed to a vital source of bacterial to give us a boost as we enter this world by building up the healthy bacteria in our intestines. Breast feeding then provides vital protection in the early months as we cannot produce the antibodies that are necessary to fight many infections. We can only get these from mother’s milk, and best when our mother has developed these antibodies naturally herself.

As our immune system matures we develop and strengthen the first line of defence; this generalised response is essentially identical irrespective of the virus / bacteria etc. The Pasteur Institute states that 98% of our immune response is this generalised part. The remaining 2% is specialised, and is the immunity we develop only through natural exposure. Immunity is the presence of antibodies which can identify specific intruders, lock onto them and cause their destruction.  Only through natural exposure are we able to develop lifelong immunity. Vaccines do not stimulate the immune system in a natural way, nor equally in everyone, and never for life-long protection.

WE’VE NEVER BEEN SICKER

In very recent times the incidence of chronic diseases has exploded, and yet politically there seems to be no clear response to the key causative factors. These diseases include diabetes, dementia, heart disease, cancer, allergies and asthma, multiple sclerosis, autism and ADHD spectrum disorders. What pops up quite commonly in the research of these diseases is a strong link to disorder / imbalance in the normal intestinal biome (bacteria). Many now speak of the gut-brain, effectively the interplay between a digestive system that absorbs all the correct nutrients required of the body, and the function of these nutrients in maintaining your good health. When the bacteria no longer are in the correct balance, your body is under tremendous strain to keep you healthy.

So if you have symptoms, are often sick, or have a chronic illness, you have an issue with healing. Good healing is the right combination of what you eat, your intestinal biome, rest, not too much stress, exercise, and the coordination of it all through your nervous system.

WHAT’S BAD FOR IMMUNITY?

There is a vast array of things that are detrimental to our good health, some more specific in relation to immunity are:

Dietary:

  • Excess carbohydrates

  • Too much of the wrong fats and too little of the good ones

  • Drinking too little water

  • Too much carbonated drinks

  • Omega fat imbalance (fish oils)

Gut Biome:

  • Vaccinated mother in pregnancy and during breastfeeding (no natural immunity passed on)

  • Non-vaginal birth

  • Minimal to no breast feeding

  • No substitution with probiotics

  • Antibiotics

  • Vaccines – disrupt biome plus multiple toxic metals and ingredients with (un)acknowledged / unknown health risks

  • Diet out of balance

  • Excessive cleanliness / overuse of antibacterial products

 Immune System Function

·       Poor diet

·       Excess / long-term stress

·       Too little exercise

·       Poor quantity / quality sleep

·       Irritated nervous system

·       Toxic mercury exposure – amalgam, vaccines

·       Toxic aluminium exposure – vaccines, deodorant, cooking / preparation / food containers

·       Surgery, and especially vaccines after surgery

WHAT YOU CAN DO

In effect use the previous lists and do the opposite. Some important summary points:

  • Natural childbirth and breastfeeding are optimal and should be encouraged

  • Avoid / minimise at any age - especially in babies- medications / antibiotics as much as possible

  • the principle of vaccines is admirable, however the medical system is not truthful with us about them.  They are acknowledged as being unsafe, the effectiveness is falsely advertised, and the combined effect of so much toxin is ignored by medicine and has never been tested. When possible be selective about which ones you get

  • Consider reading ‘Grain Brain’ and make use of the recommendations (we have a copy in the Lounge)

ADD CHIROPRACTIC TO YOUR LIFE

Research has shown that the chiropractic adjustment can cause a measurable strengthening of immune system. Patient feedback research reveals many report reduced incidence and severity of illnesses while under chiropractic care. Our personal experience supports this and we highly recommend ongoing maintenance chiropractic care to maximise your potential for a long and healthy life.
